I've been passionate my whole life. About music, creating, storytelling, connection. After a decade of living in NYC and running through every even slightly-cracked door, I can say with certainty: Each one has led me to my purpose.
Even with iconic Broadway roles like Elphaba and Eva Perón under my belt,
it’s always been about more than hitting the high notes for me. My purpose doesn't stop with the standing ovation at the curtain call. The onstage world fuels my offstage world, and my deepest desire is to keep creating as Desi — with just as much gumption as I feel under the bright stage lights.
I used to think that my path had to lead me in one direction — to a single destination.
People would often tell me, “Don’t stray from the path!” But who says there can’t be more than one path? My musical theatre training (BFA, University of Michigan) prepared me for my now celebrated theatrical career, but along the way I also discovered a passion for releasing original music, co-starring on TV shows, recording voice overs for national commercials, partnering with global brands, mentoring thousands of young artists through workshops, and more.
I'm confident there's more to discover on the path of connection & growth in my artistry -
